  6. Current License holders may request ServicePaks in diskette media by
  7. contacting IBM Software Solution Services at 1-800-992-4777.
  8.  
  9. ServicePaks, and SelectPaks may usually be obtained via electronic
  10. media from the following sources.  The naming conventions for each
  11. Disk, or BBS may vary depending on their individual requirements.
  12. (SelectPaks are smaller and more component oriented then ServicePaks.
  13. SelectPaks are generally available only in electronic media)
  14.  
  15.      o OS/2 Bulletin Board Service (OS2BBS):  From the OS2BBS main
  16.        menu select Option three, Software Library.  Within Software
  17.        Library option two is for ServicePak and CSD packages. ( for
  18.        information on subscription rates  call 1-800-547-1283)

  20.      o IBM Personal Computer Company (PCC) BBS: Call 1-919-517-0001.
  21.        service packages are located in directory 4.

  28.        software.watson.ibm.com in /pubs/os2, and /pubs/os2/lanser,

  31.        software ps.

  55. systems. Standard Edition Service (XRxnnnn) can be used to service the
  56. base operating system functions (Kernel, Presentation Manager, etc.).

  60. SERVICE FOR EXTENDED EDITION 1.3.

  62. WRx5200  Is a cumulative ServicePak that includes all fixes since EE.
  63.          The 1.3 ServicePak supersedes WRx5100 and WRx5150, as well
  64.          as all other previous CSD's.  A problem in Comm Mgr required
  65.          a change to the DOSCALLS.DLL and has been fixed by the APAR
  66.          APAR JR07074 and is available from L2, as well as the BBS's.
  67.          All NLV's are available and have the DOSCALLS fix included.

  69. SERVICE FOR STANDARD EDITION 1.3

  71. XRx5150  Standard Edition fixes only.  Can cause Comm Mgr problems unless

  141.         DBCS countries Japan, and Taiwan.

  167.         ServicePak for electronic and diskette orders.  The U.S. version
  168.         will service all countries.

  173. SERVICE FOR LAN SERVER 3.0
  174.  
  175. IPx7045 This is a Cumulative ServicePak for LS 3.0 and will pick up RIPL,
  176.         UPM, LS Requester and Server, NTS/2, DLR and LSP fixes.
  177.         IPx7045 is nearly equivalent of the Manufacturing Refresh 3.00.1
  178.         (IPx7040) with three more RIPL changes.
  179.         This ServicePak will supersede IPx7001, IPx7003, and IP07005.
  180.         NLV support is available for both EMEA and DBCS countries.
  181.  
  182. IPx7060 This is a Cumulative ServicePak for LS 3.0 and will pick up RIPL,
  183.         UPM, LS Requester and Server, NTS/2, DLR and LSP 1.38 fixes.
  184.         RIPL support has also been incorporated for the WARP ver3
  185.         (which enhances existing DOS and Windows), and WARP ver3
  186.         (which includes DOS and Windows application support).
  187.         This ServicePak will supersede IP07045 and will provide service
  188.         for LS 3.00.1 IP07040 Manufacturing Refresh.  U.S is now
  189.         available and NLV support is scheduled for both EMEA and DBCS
  190.         countries by late June 1995.

  193. NTS/2 NETWORK TRANSPORT SERVICES/2 and LAPS LAN ADAPTER and PROTOCOL
  194. SUPPORT (Combined package)
  195.  
  196. WRx7045 Service for NTS/2 and LAPS v2.20.1, This ServicePak/Refresh
  197.         will ship as a separate ServicePak, it also is shipped as
  198.         part of the ServicePak IPx7045 for LS 3.0, and supersedes
  199.         WRx7020.  This package includes all APARS included in the
  200.         NTS/2 LAPS refresh 2.20.1, plus four additional APARS.
  201.         Some of the BBS's may not package the IPx7045 and WRx7045
  202.         together.  Make certain that you have both packages before
  203.         applying IPx7045.
  204.         NLV support is available for both EMEA and DBCS countries.
  205.  
  206. WRx7060 This ServicePak will service LAPS V2.11 or higher for LAN
  207.         Adapter and Protocol support, and NTS/2.  For levels below
  208.         V2.11 WR07045 will need to be applied.  This diskettes for
  209.         this package can still be obtained from Boulder in diskette
  210.         media, plus should still be available electronically from
  211.         several sources.  The following versions of LAPS can be
  212.         serviced with this package;
  213.  
  214.           o LAPS V2.11, LAPS V2.20, LAPS V2.20.1, and LAPS V2.20.2.
  215.  
  216.         This package also includes a separately installable NTS/2
  217.         BonusPak.  This contains MAC drivers for OEM adapter cards,
  218.         new applets, an updated SRVIFS, and an upgraded CID install
  219.         utility.
  220.         This package will not be needed if the LS 3.0 ServicePak
  221.         IP07060 has been applied.

  225. IPx7050  This ServicePak is intended to service LAN Distance V1.1
  226.          Entry or Advanced Servers, and OS/2, or Windows Remote
  227.          Clients.  In addition to providing service it also added
  228.          support for X.25 Native Adapters, NetWare, IBM ISDN Primary
  229.          Rate Adapter Enablement, Banyan VINES Token Ring for OS/2
  230.          Remote Client,  Auto LANStreamer Adapters (Token Ring
  231.          Promiscuous Mode), and Enablement for Security User Exits.
  232.          Japanese versions, and limited EMEA versions are available.

  236. ServicePaks for Extended Services and LAN Services are now separate, as
  237. are the products themselves.  The OS/2 components, once included in
  238. CSDs, are no longer a part of the ES or LS ServicePaks.  The Database
  239. feature has evolved from the ES 1.0 into separate products of their own
  240. with DB2/2 and DDCS/2.  Communication Manager also has spun off on its
  241. own with the CM/2 Communication Manager product.

  243. Hence, the OS/2 extensions are beginning to depart from the historic CSD
  244. approach with the presumption that the Base Operating System function
  245. is available at the time service is applied.  Future service will evolve
  246. toward electronic distribution, media independence (ie. non-diskette),
  247. and remote service (CID installs).
