Subject: OS/2 1.3, ES & LS ServicePaks, SelectPaks Status Date: May 5, 1995 ************************************************************************* Current License holders may request ServicePaks in diskette media by contacting IBM Software Solution Services at 1-800-992-4777. ServicePaks, and SelectPaks may usually be obtained via electronic media from the following sources. The naming conventions for each Disk, or BBS may vary depending on their individual requirements. (SelectPaks are smaller and more component oriented then ServicePaks. SelectPaks are generally available only in electronic media) o OS/2 Bulletin Board Service (OS2BBS): From the OS2BBS main menu select Option three, Software Library. Within Software Library option two is for ServicePak and CSD packages. ( for information on subscription rates call 1-800-547-1283) o IBM Personal Computer Company (PCC) BBS: Call 1-919-517-0001. service packages are located in directory 4. o CompuServe: Download service packages from IBM OS/2 FORUM Library - GO IBMOS2 IBM DF2 Forum, then go to appropriate section Database, Comm Manager, LAN Server. o Internet: Do an anonymous FTP from ps.boulder.ibm.com., or software.watson.ibm.com in /pubs/os2, and /pubs/os2/lanser, for LAN Server packages, and /pubs/db2/os2 for Database on software watson, and /ps/products/db2, lanserver, etc on software ps. o OS2CSD and NLOS2CSD Disks: Internal use only listed by the package name (ie..WR06035 US, IPG7001 Germany, etc..) o LANCSD Has a limited amount of the ServicePaks available. Access IBMLAN from Omnidisk to get LANCSD. o PS55CSD: The internal equivalent to NLOS2CSD for Japanese users. o National Language versions (NLV) are also available on EMEA Hone, DIALIBM plus the German, Canadian, and Australian BBS's. ************************************************************************* IBM OS/2 Extended Edition 1.3 is transformed into "Standard Edition 1.3" by virtue of installing any one of the following IBM products. LAN Server 2.0 (Entry or Advanced) Extended Services 1.0 - Database Manager or Communications Manager Communications Manager/2 1.0 Extended Edition Corrective Service (WRxnnnn) no longer applies to these systems. Standard Edition Service (XRxnnnn) can be used to service the base operating system functions (Kernel, Presentation Manager, etc.). ************************************************************************* SERVICE FOR EXTENDED EDITION 1.3. WRx5200 Is a cumulative ServicePak that includes all fixes since EE. The 1.3 ServicePak supersedes WRx5100 and WRx5150, as well as all other previous CSD's. A problem in Comm Mgr required a change to the DOSCALLS.DLL and has been fixed by the APAR APAR JR07074 and is available from L2, as well as the BBS's. All NLV's are available and have the DOSCALLS fix included. SERVICE FOR STANDARD EDITION 1.3 XRx5150 Standard Edition fixes only. Can cause Comm Mgr problems unless the DOSCALLS.DLL fix (mentioned above) is applied. All NLV forms are available. ************************************************************************* SERVICE FOR DB2/2, DDCS/2, CAE/2, and SDK/2. The Database Services component for DB2/2, DDCS/2, CAE/2, and SDK/2 ServicePaks are available from OS2BBS, OS2CSD, CompuServe, Internet, and other forums. They are also orderable from ISMC in Boulder in diskette media. Currently available in US, NLV support coming soon; WRx7035 DB2/2 V1.2 ServicePak (Compid 562204401). WRx7036 DDCS/2 V2.2 ServicePak (Compid 562205700) (Diskette orders from Boulder should be requested with PTF WR07034) (Co-req WRx7035). WRx7030 DB2/2 V1.0 ServicePak (Compid 562204401). WRx7031 DDCS/2 V2.0 ServicePak (Co-Req WRx7030) (Compid 562205700). WRx7037 CAE/2 V1.2 ServicePak for CS FOR AIX V1.1/V1.2 (ICA) (Compid 562212900). Note: These three CAE/2 V1.2 ServicePaks are identical. The three PTF numbers have been made available since CAE/2 is as shipped as three different products under those product's compids. WRx7038 SDK/2 V1.2 ServicePak for DB2/2 V1.2 (ICA) (Compid 562221500). WRx7033 CAE/2 V1.2 ServicePak for DB2/2 V1.2 (Compid 562204401). IPx7032 CAE/2 V1.2 ServicePak for CS for AIX V1.2 (ILAP) (Compid 576546600). WRx7039 SDK/2 V1.2 ServicePak for CS for AIX V1.2 (ILAP) (Compid 562260400). Note: These two SDK/2 V1.2 ServicePaks are identical. The two PTF numbers have been made available since SDK/2 is available under two different Compids. ************************************************************************* SERVICE FOR EXTENDED SERVICES 1.0 DATABASE SERVICES: WRx6035 Services the Database Services portion of Extended Services 1.0. This ServicePak is cumulative and replaces WR06001, WR06002, WR06003, WR06004, WR06014, and WR06015 SelectPaks. WRx6036 The DBCS country(Japan, and Taiwan)version of WRx6035 plus AT Bus support. WRx6040 Distributed Database Connection Services/2 (DDCS/2) Ver 1.0 ServicePak, All NLV countries are available. ************************************************************************* SERVICE FOR EXTENDED SERVICES - COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER: WRx6025 ServicePak will service the Communication Manager portion of Extended Services 1.0. This contains the EHLLAPI support for Windows that was provided by WR06116. EMEA NLV country support is available. WRx6026 ServicePak is WRx6025 plus additional fixes required for the DBCS countries Japan, and Taiwan. ************************************************************************* COMMUNICATION MANAGER CM/2 WRx6050 Communications Manager CM/2 v1.01 ServicePak. Diskette orders should be forwarded to the CM/2 group. WRx6150 Communications Manager CM/2 v1.11 ServicePak. NLV support is also available. ************************************************************************* SERVICE FOR LAN SERVER 2.0 IPx6030 Services both Entry and Advanced LAN Server 2.0. It includes fixes for LAN Requester and DOS LAN Requester. All EMEA NLVs, and Japan are available. ************************************************************************* SERVICE FOR SYSTEM PERFORMANCE MONITOR/2 (SPM/2) WR06075 Services the SPM/2 2.00 Product. It includes fixes plus new enhancements for this product. It will be available as a ServicePak for electronic and diskette orders. The U.S. version will service all countries. (3.5-inch is the only diskette media available) ************************************************************************* SERVICE FOR LAN SERVER 3.0 IPx7045 This is a Cumulative ServicePak for LS 3.0 and will pick up RIPL, UPM, LS Requester and Server, NTS/2, DLR and LSP fixes. IPx7045 is nearly equivalent of the Manufacturing Refresh 3.00.1 (IPx7040) with three more RIPL changes. This ServicePak will supersede IPx7001, IPx7003, and IP07005. NLV support is available for both EMEA and DBCS countries. IPx7060 This is a Cumulative ServicePak for LS 3.0 and will pick up RIPL, UPM, LS Requester and Server, NTS/2, DLR and LSP 1.38 fixes. RIPL support has also been incorporated for the WARP ver3 (which enhances existing DOS and Windows), and WARP ver3 (which includes DOS and Windows application support). This ServicePak will supersede IP07045 and will provide service for LS 3.00.1 IP07040 Manufacturing Refresh. U.S is now available and NLV support is scheduled for both EMEA and DBCS countries by late June 1995. ************************************************************************* NTS/2 NETWORK TRANSPORT SERVICES/2 and LAPS LAN ADAPTER and PROTOCOL SUPPORT (Combined package) WRx7045 Service for NTS/2 and LAPS v2.20.1, This ServicePak/Refresh will ship as a separate ServicePak, it also is shipped as part of the ServicePak IPx7045 for LS 3.0, and supersedes WRx7020. This package includes all APARS included in the NTS/2 LAPS refresh 2.20.1, plus four additional APARS. Some of the BBS's may not package the IPx7045 and WRx7045 together. Make certain that you have both packages before applying IPx7045. NLV support is available for both EMEA and DBCS countries. WRx7060 This ServicePak will service LAPS V2.11 or higher for LAN Adapter and Protocol support, and NTS/2. For levels below V2.11 WR07045 will need to be applied. This diskettes for this package can still be obtained from Boulder in diskette media, plus should still be available electronically from several sources. The following versions of LAPS can be serviced with this package; o LAPS V2.11, LAPS V2.20, LAPS V2.20.1, and LAPS V2.20.2. This package also includes a separately installable NTS/2 BonusPak. This contains MAC drivers for OEM adapter cards, new applets, an updated SRVIFS, and an upgraded CID install utility. This package will not be needed if the LS 3.0 ServicePak IP07060 has been applied. ************************************************************************* IPx7050 This ServicePak is intended to service LAN Distance V1.1 Entry or Advanced Servers, and OS/2, or Windows Remote Clients. In addition to providing service it also added support for X.25 Native Adapters, NetWare, IBM ISDN Primary Rate Adapter Enablement, Banyan VINES Token Ring for OS/2 Remote Client, Auto LANStreamer Adapters (Token Ring Promiscuous Mode), and Enablement for Security User Exits. Japanese versions, and limited EMEA versions are available. ************************************************************************* ServicePaks for Extended Services and LAN Services are now separate, as are the products themselves. The OS/2 components, once included in CSDs, are no longer a part of the ES or LS ServicePaks. The Database feature has evolved from the ES 1.0 into separate products of their own with DB2/2 and DDCS/2. Communication Manager also has spun off on its own with the CM/2 Communication Manager product. Hence, the OS/2 extensions are beginning to depart from the historic CSD approach with the presumption that the Base Operating System function is available at the time service is applied. Future service will evolve toward electronic distribution, media independence (ie. non-diskette), and remote service (CID installs).
